Extractions

Once your permanent teeth have grown in, there may be some instances where the tooth (or teeth) may need to be extracted. Before choosing to receive an extraction, these cases have to be properly diagnosed Dr. Bigelow-all other options should be considered. Dr. Bigelow may recommend tooth extraction for one or more of the following reasons:

  • Cosmetic procedure or orthodontic preparation
  • Risk of infection
  • Infection
  • Advanced decay or periodontal (gum) disease

In most cases, tooth extraction is the last resort to maintain your dental health. To avoid the necessity for an extraction, it is important to keep up a good oral hygiene routine at home and consistently attend appointments with Dr. Bigelow.
